Vegan Diet

It is a common belief that going vegan means you will have to sacrifice your dietary needs for your dietary wants. This is not true at all. One of the most common debates and questions about Veganism is, ‘where will you get your protein?’ Rest assured, there are many ways to add protein to your diet without eating meat. Read along to find some tasty, high in protein foods to add to your daily dishes.

While beans are a basic protein filler in your diet, they are underrated. Beans and legumes in general are one of the most versatile foods. With a wide variety of beans to try and a multitude of ways to use them, beans are a must for all vegans. Some great beans to use in meals are garbanzo beans, kidney beans, black beans, and lentils. Contrary to popular belief, tofu is a delicious addition to just about any meal and an excellent source of protein. Just because something is healthy doesn’t mean it doesn’t have to taste good and tofu is the perfect example. With Veganism on the rise, more and more brands are releasing their own take on tofu and now there are so many types and textures to try, pre spiced or not.

Very similar to tofu – but can be made from soybean, black bean, chickpeas, and more – tempeh is another great source of protein. Tempeh can be cooked in the same ways as tofu and can be added in to any pasta dish, cooked on the side of a meal, thrown in a salad, or made with rice.
